Wednesday 20th September 2006. A very tragic day for me.

Balik pukul 3ptg, aku abis EPM duty. Then ciow la balik ke rumah, then mula2 masuk atu ku liyat beg2 AMWAY beampaian atas meja. Like I tot maybe my sista yg inda taruh lapas meliyat.

Then, bila kan naik atas, wah, I saw pintu bilik tidur tingkat bawah berbuka langap2 and barang2 bertaburan di dalam bilik ah, masuk ke dalam, apa lagi, ku liyat almari baju, n cabinet semua kana bukak laci2nya n barang2 kana selerak all over the place. My mom punya beg dalam almari pun kana umban2 with the things scattered on the bed n floor.

Then ku liyat the lubang aircond yg ditutup dengan kayu sudah ‘open’, well, dari sana tah the penjenayah masuk tu. Naik ke atas , the rooms upstairs pun abis kana selongkar. Abis abis… semua bertaburan atas lantai. Macam kapal pacah bah rumah ah.

The first person I called was Maat. Then my houseowner n then the police. The police arrived around 430pm. C Awg ku sms n he came as well. After some finger print search, the police left. Awg left after dangani aku jalan bali paku, etc..

Darkroom gurl then dtg from her cousin’s place, to see the mess the burglar had done. Wat a day!! Kayu ku dapat dari Hj Maat. Nasib ia bagi.Ku lantak kayu sendiri di lubang yang pacah ah. Went wif her n my other cozen to the police station to do some reports as well. Malam atu ku taruh kerusi banyak2 arah the lubang aircond yang d living room. I don’t think the thief will try again. Takut saja mungkin.. but hopefully not… will apply to pindah rumah soon...

Career Exhibition

Career Exhibition Centrepoint Hotel

Career Exhibition at Centrepoint Hotel Thurs,13th – Friday,14th September 2006 Sempena Hari Kesihatan Sedunia 2006. This exhibition for Allied Health Professionals from the Health Minsitry.

Maat n me kana pilih for the career exhibition. Actually mula2 atu kami kana arahkan manning the booth atu sorang2 saja. Ceh, so pandai2 kami la changed our roster, tukar duties wif other staffs. Lastly dapat ler kami dua did the exhibiton together on two day. Neway, boring kaliah kalau sorang2.. bulih..

Neway, abis my PM duties n all on dat Tuesday aku uruskan la pasal transport n all, coz kan bawa our ‘Skeleton Man’ ke Centrepoint. N called certain people about the functions, dats all.

On Wednesday, my day off, I went bawak ‘Skeleton Man’ via the hospital transport n ke dept lagi ambik all materials like posters, film badges, lead shield, etc for the exhibitons. Maat went along on that Wednesday afternoon lakat2 poster n all at our booth. Malam atu kami dtg lagi muahaha.. sal ada posters yg ketinggalan. Maat belanja ‘blue tac’ for the function. ( Different function org bebadak di sebalah, jiran sebalah, so dtg tah ku ngan Hj Maat, function abis kul 10mlm labih.. uwaaa so tired )

Thursday, 14th the day of the exhibition, acara Perasmian by our Minister of Health, n then ramai tia students dtg2 melawat ke booth2 yg tersedia. Ramai kaliah, bulih.. but siyuk la, sangal bediri meng explain to students about wat a radiographer does n all. But siyuk juwa. Afternoon ada presentation from us, but nada students ani bah, since kul 345 atu kaliah, students kan balik.. muahaha, escape ..

Friday, 15th, another career day. Kui 9pagi. Presentation to the students. Mula2 atu sikit masuk masa ku present. Maat di booth I think, n I was at the Red Jade conference room, wif my career talk about radiographers. In the middle cam nervous pulang ku , muahaha.. Maat came in towards the ending of my talk.. tambah2 sikit about a radiographer job.
Lega rasanya biler sudah abis, these students r so easy to pls, they don’t ask questions..

Then, kembali ke Booth, ramai lagi dtg muahaha.. At 430pm, bukak tia posters2 etc, we ciow.. Malam atu ada lagi function dinner with the Minister. Only Wan, Maat n me yg attended the function, so sad my other coligs inda dtg sal they had plan. Neway, its really mengenyangkan, n I had fun.

Saturday my day off, uruskan Mr Sekeleton man, coz di angkut balik using Hospital Transport ke RIPAS. Felt so lazy to get up off bed, tepkasa jua diangkut balik awal2 coz Centerpoint management bagitau the area yg durang sediakn atu needed to be cleared for badminton thingy pagi atu juwa.. muahaha.. so awal2 aku dtg ambik Skeleton Man, n nasib baik ada porter sana yg tulung angkat.. nice peepz.. Ambik my car pass as well tarus d RIPAS, bebayar kaliah, $40 a year.. Neway I enjoyed the career thingy, ngalih plang…

GUBRA

Gubra

I have waited long enuff 4 diz movie to be out in vcd. Macam mana juwa kan. Its not shown in Brunei cinema.

Neway, dz is a good one as well, its sort of like a sequel to SEPET, it shows the life of Orkid when shes older, n err.. married, to who.. surprise surprise, Adlin Aman Ramli! (dat pengkritik from AF4!). Actually I tot hes a chinese masa muler2 atu, then baru ku sadar its him when he speaks in malay.

The acting is good, n very, very, very daring for Sharifah Amani, like.. wow.. ada romen2 sikit.. muahaha.. oh well, now I know why inda kana luluskan d Brunei. The storyline itself is not about Orkids’ life after marriage but also the life of another family. About being a prostitute. Errr.. very sensitive subjects.. one scene when the bilal terserempak with these prostitutes and bertegur2 sapa is like.. wow, ada kan things like dat in real life.. n the bilal pegang dat dog, n usap2 kepala dier…

This movie needs to be watch 100% aku rekomen. Banyak sindiran2 la dalam movie ani, I think aspects of Chinese-Malay community, and touches the religious side of life juwa.

P/s: Also watched TRAIN MAN, a very silly Japanese movie, pasal a man yg jatuh cintan wif a gurl on the LRT train. This guy is like so so shy n immature. Hes more teruk than me!! Muahahaha.. watch it!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0484355/
This is the kritik sal diz movie from the link di atas.

So anyway, Malaysians will still remember Yasmin Ahmad's stunner hit Sepet from 2 years ago, about Orked (Amani) who falls in love with a Chinese VCD seller, and their blossoming and tragic romance. Gubra is a sequel of sorts to Sepet, taking place a few years later. Orked is happily married to Arif, but/and things do happen, and... anyway.

I say Gubra is a sequel of sorts because it's not exactly the term I'd use. I suppose a more proper definition is that Gubra is set in the same world some time after Sepet. The issues discussed in the film are expanded, new characters in entirely different settings are introduced, like the storyline of an Imam and his wife reaching out to prostitutes. While these story lines are not physically connected, the themes of honesty/dishonesty/forgiveness/adultery do come together.

I admit, it's not easy writing a review for this film, simply because it's difficult to decide on what to review on. As I watched the film, I felt that everything was more important, and the messages more driven and forceful. Technically, the film has improved vastly in every aspect. But all the energy and potential that is conjured throughout the film is somewhat directionless. Or to put the blame on myself, I felt a bit lost as to where it all led to. The entire film then turns out to be quite a mesh of good bricks left in a pile.

Does being hurt permits one to hurt back, and to break promises? Does repentance really bring redemption? While these are idealistic questions to ask, and are sometimes reflections of reality, the film in the end still came across to me as ultimately wanting to be idealistic. I find that problematic, really. And yes, I am very stumped by the many story lines, and how its all supposed to fit together.

That being said, the good does still shine through. There are many moments where the film lets fly with its montages of romance and reflection. Nostalgia does come to heart, and the "awww" factor is clearly effective. The issues raised are good issues that needs raising, even if it is not handled in it's fullest potential. It is a thousand times better than not talking about anything at all.

It's worth a watch. Gubra is still better than most mainstream Malaysian films. It is a daring film, and for that, all credit is due to the cast and crew of Gubra.

GO WATCH 'GUBRA'!!
